What is it about aggression? Is it solely a survival response? Ego? Genetic pre-programming? Testosterone? The adrenaline dump is avoided by many, but seeked out by others, but is the human body not designed for combat? We may not have exoskeletons, horns, or large sharp canine teeth.. But we do have fists, elbows, knees, a large brain to use strategy, and various chemical processes that prepare us for fight (or flight). Martial arts have been around for thousands of years to train the body and the mind for battle, but usually training has three tiers. Not knowing technique, knowing technique, and knowing you need not use technique. The smartest thing is to diffuse the situation at hand without violence. You just don’t see masters of martial arts going out to the bars to kick some ass. They are cool, collected, and enlightened to the human condition. I purpose it is best to use aggression in moderation as a life tool, but in most cases to think about where the aggression comes from in the first place.. The Ego can be a powerful foe.
