“The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people” – Theodore Roosevelt
Who exactly are “they”? They are people who have been exposed to different experiences in life. They had a different upbringing, parenting, diet, morals, religion… Etc. the list goes on and on. They of course view life through a different filter or lens than you. You have not been in their shoes, and they certainly have not been in yours. Does this mean we each have our own absolute truth? I say no, that we all experience truth through our own relative views. This does not mean we have to point the finger at others and say they are wrong. It only means they are on their own path in life. When I feel the heat of anger due to what I feel is an ignorant comment, I try to slow down and remember that they are on a different path in life. I only have the power to put out my opinion. I cannot force enlightenment or epiphany. So whoever they are in your life… Politicians, bosses, media, North Koreans, religious figures, etc. Realize most of the time; “they” are right next to you on their own journey, just like you. But together “we” have a much easier time getting along together.
